Pay particular attention to the fact of checking that the did all they said they were going to do, and in the time limits they said they would do them. Ask also to ensure that they treated the person's home properly, paying particular attention to cleanliness - always the sign of a good company, or a bad one if the response is in the negative!.

Only deal with a company which will give you these testimonials. Again, unless you know them, or they are visiting you as a result of a recommendation, if they are reluctant to do this, then move on.

And finally to the main point of cost. Never deal with anyone who will not work to a fixed price. Get this guaranteed fix price, no hidden extras fully catered for, in print and do not give anyone the go ahead to do any work until you have received this, signed and sealed.
